  • I always recommend x2 days before the wedding just to make sure you’ve had two good washes before the wedding and for the tan to be fully settled on the skin. 2-3 days is the perfect amount of time.

  • As an expert in spray tanning, I can assure you that a properly applied spray tan should not transfer onto your wedding dress. However, there are a few things you can do to ensure that your dress stays clean and free from any potential spray tan mishaps.

Firstly, make sure to schedule your spray tan appointment at least 2-3 days before your wedding day. This will give the spray tan enough time to fully develop and for any excess bronzer to wash off in the shower, leaving you with a natural-looking, even tan.

Secondly, avoid wearing tight-fitting clothing, bras or underwear immediately after your spray tan appointment, as this can cause the tan to rub off unevenly and potentially transfer onto your wedding dress.

Thirdly, bring a loose-fitting, dark-colored robe or clothing to wear after your spray tan appointment, so that you don't accidentally rub off the tan.

Lastly, if you are still concerned about the potential for the spray tan to transfer onto your dress, consider scheduling a trial spray tan session before your wedding day. This will give you a chance to see how the spray tan looks on your skin and how it behaves with different fabrics, helping to ease any concerns you may have.

Overall, with proper preparation and application, a spray tan should not transfer onto your wedding dress and can give you the perfect bridal glow on your special day.

  • Some people like to book in a trial tan for a hen do, or a dress try on, or a makeup trial. Each of these occasions are a great way to test the tan, to see how comfortable you feel with the tan and to check how it sits against your white dress. Ideally book it 2 - 3 days before your event so it is the same amount of time as your wedding tan.

  • As an expert in spray tanning, I can tell you that the longevity of your spray tan depends on several factors, such as your skin type, the solution used, and how well you take care of your skin after the appointment.

Generally, a spray tan can last anywhere from 6 to 10 days, with some fading occurring after the first approximately 5 days. To ensure the longest possible lifespan of your spray tan, it's important to properly prepare your skin before the appointment by exfoliating and moisturising, and to avoid showering or swimming for at least 8 hours after the spray tan is applied.

To extend the life of your spray tan, you can also use a daily moisturizer that contains DHA (the active ingredient in spray tans) to help maintain your color and prevent premature fading. Additionally, avoiding hot showers and excessive sweating can help keep your spray tan looking fresh for longer.

Ultimately, the longevity of your spray tan will depend on a variety of factors, but with proper preparation and aftercare, you can expect your tan to last anywhere from 5 to 10 days.

  • I understand that the main concern with getting a spray tan is whether it will look natural or not. The good news is that with the right products and application technique, a spray tan can look incredibly natural.

I use Bondi Sands, which offers a range of tanning solutions with varying percentages of DHA (the active ingredient in self-tanners). These include 8% light, 10% liquid gold, 12% dark tan, and 14% ultra dark tan.

However, it's important to note that what looks natural on one person may not look natural on another. That's why I always take the time to discuss your tanning goals and skin tone before applying any product. By tailoring the solution and application technique to your individual needs, I can ensure that you achieve the most natural-looking results possible. So rest assured, with my expertise and attention to detail, you can confidently rock a flawless, natural-looking spray tan.

  • I always recommend taking some precautions to avoid any staining. It is best to wear loose, dark clothing to your spray tan appointment to minimise the risk of staining. And wear clothes you don’t mind getting ruined.

After the spray tan, it is important to avoid tight clothing and sweating for at least 6-8 hours, as the solution needs time to fully develop. Additionally, it is best to avoid showering or swimming for at least 8-12 hours after the spray tan.

If you do notice any color transfer onto your clothes or sheets, don't panic, this should come out but it is not guaranteed. Simply wash them as soon as possible with cold water and a mild detergent.

It’s best to sleep on bedding that is old (not white!) and you dont mind the risk of getting tan on.

Ideally you will sleep in long dark sleeves and trousers when you sleep. You can even go a step further and put a towel down underneath you and on your pillow for extra protection from the tan!

  • Yes, you can shower after getting a spray tan, but it's important to wait the recommended amount of time before doing so. Usually 8 hours after your spray tan application, depending on the solution used and the depth of colour desired. Showering too soon can cause the spray tan to develop unevenly or even completely wash off. When you do shower, it's important to use only water and a gentle, pH-balanced soap to avoid stripping the color or causing any skin irritation.

  • There are a few things you can do to extend the life of your spray tan:

Moisturise regularly: Keeping your skin moisturised will help maintain your tan. Use a gentle, oil-free moisturiser to prevent fading and dryness. Something like Aveno or Dermol lotions are fab for helping your tan last longer!

Avoid using Dove products, products with sulphates in and oil based products as these can break down the tan.

Avoid long, hot showers: Hot water can cause your skin to dry out and your tan to fade faster. Try to take shorter, lukewarm showers instead.

Pat dry instead of rubbing: When you get out of the shower, avoid rubbing your skin with a towel. Instead, pat yourself dry to prevent the tan from rubbing off.

Avoid swimming and excessive sweating: Water and sweat can cause your tan to fade faster. Try to avoid swimming or excessive sweating for at least 24 hours after your spray tan.

Wear loose clothing: Tight-fitting clothes can rub against your skin and cause your tan to fade faster. Opt for loose-fitting clothes that won't rub against your skin.

Topping up your tan about 4/5 days in with a gradual tanning milk will also help prolong the tan for longer.

By following these tips, you can help your spray tan last longer and maintain its beautiful, bronzed glow.

  • I highly recommend preparing your skin properly before getting a spray tan to ensure the best results. Here are some tips:

Exfoliate: Use a gentle exfoliating scrub to remove any dead skin cells and ensure an even application. I like to use an exfoliating glove with a Bondi Sands exfoliator for the best effect. This should be done at least a week leading up to your tan. But not on the day of your tan.

Shave or wax: Hair removal should be done at least 24 hours before the spray tan to allow your pores to close and prevent any streaking.

Avoid moisturisers: Do not apply any lotions, creams or oils on the day of your spray tan as they can interfere with the tanning solution.

Wear loose clothing: Opt for loose and comfortable clothing to wear after your spray tan to avoid any rubbing or friction that could cause the tan to fade or streak.

Remove jewellery: Remove any jewellery or accessories that may come into contact with the tanning solution.

By following these steps, you can ensure that your skin is properly prepped and ready for a flawless spray tan.

  • You can get your nails done before or after your wedding spray tan appointment.

If you prefer to get your nails done after your spray tan, it's important to inform your nail technician to avoid any unnecessary pressure or products on the tanned areas. After the spray tan has fully developed and you have showered, you can then safely get your nails done without any issues.

However if you get your tan done after your nails, during the spray tan appointment, I apply a barrier cream and Vaseline on your nails/toenails to protect them from any potential staining or damage. There are also wipes to remove any excess tan from your nails.

  • It's best to get your brows done at least 24-48 hours before your spray tan appointment to allow time for any redness or irritation to subside. This will also prevent any wax or tint from interfering with the spray tan application.

  • I would say that it is important to consider any skin sensitivities or allergies before getting a spray tan. While many people with sensitive skin can safely get a spray tan, it is always best to do a patch test first to check for any adverse reactions.

  • I recommend wearing loose, coloured clothing to your spray tan appointment to prevent any unwanted staining. It's also best to avoid wearing any tight-fitting clothing or undergarments that may rub against the skin and cause the tan to rub off. Some clients prefer to wear disposable undergarments provided by myself but this is optional and you can bring your own underwear.

Additionally, it's important to remove any jewellery or accessories that may get in the way of the tanning process.

It’s important not to have any makeup, deodorant, moisturiser on the skin before your appointment as these can act as barriers to the tan.

If you can shower ideally 4 hours before your appointment with water only, this will prevent any PH imbalances from soap onto you your tanned skin.

  • No, a spray tan does not offer any protection against the sun's harmful UV rays. It's important to always wear sunscreen with SPF when spending time outdoors, even if you have a spray tan. A spray tan can give the appearance of a tan without the need for sun exposure, but it does not provide any actual protection from the sun.

  • A spray tan can help to camouflage tattoos or scars to some extent, but it may not completely cover them up. The degree of coverage will depend on the size, color, and location of the tattoo or scar. It's important to discuss your concerns with your spray tan technician beforehand so they can work with you to achieve the desired result. They may suggest using a slightly darker shade of tan to help blend the tattoo or scar with the surrounding skin. Keep in mind that the spray tan will eventually fade and the tattoo or scar may become more visible again.

  • The first 12 weeks of pregnancy you cannot have a spray tan.

It is generally safe to get a spray tan while pregnant, but it's always best to consult with your Doctor/healthcare provider before doing so. The active ingredient in spray tans, DHA, is considered safe for external use during pregnancy, but it's important to consider any potential sensitivities or allergies you may have. Ultimately, it's a personal decision that should be made in consultation with your Doctor.

  • As a professional, I recommend waiting at least 7-10 days between spray tans to allow your skin to fully exfoliate and for the previous tan to fade evenly. However, it ultimately depends on your personal preference and the condition of your skin. Over-tanning can lead to uneven or blotchy results, so it's important to listen to your skin and give it time to breathe between tanning sessions.

  • I would like to clarify that the length of time a tan needs to be on the skin can vary depending on the specific product and brand used. However, in general, most spray tans need to be left on the skin for at least 8 hours for the best results. It's important to follow the instructions provided by your spray tan technician or on the product label to ensure you get the best possible outcome as some tans can be on the skin for 2-4 hours.

  • Yes, as a professional spray tan artist, I am trained to cater to different skin types and tones. I use different formulas and shades of tanning solution to ensure that each client gets the most natural-looking and flawless tan possible. From fair to dark skin tones, I tailor the spray tan to each client's unique needs. It's important to discuss your skin type with your spray tan artist to ensure that the right products are used and the best results are achieved.

  • A spray tan can help to minimise the appearance of tan lines, but it cannot completely cover them up. It is important to note that the tan lines may become more noticeable as the spray tan fades, so it is best to try and minimize them before getting a spray tan if possible - especially a wedding tan if those areas are on show with your dress style.

  • The darkness of a spray tan can vary depending on the percentage of DHA (dihydroxyacetone) in the solution used and how many applications are applied. Most spray tan solutions come in a range of shades from light to ultra-dark, and a professional spray tanner can help you choose the right shade for your skin tone and desired level of darkness. It is also important to note that the final color can be affected by factors such as the natural undertones of your skin and how well you prepare your skin before the spray tan.

  • It is recommended to avoid wearing makeup or applying lotion immediately after getting a spray tan, as it can affect the development and longevity of the tan. It is best to wait at least 8 hours before showering or applying any products to the skin. Once the tan has fully developed and been washed off, it is safe to wear makeup and apply lotion as usual.

  • It is best to avoid exercising and swimming for at least 8 hours after getting a spray tan to allow it to fully develop and set. Sweating and excessive water exposure can cause the tan to streak or fade unevenly. It is recommended to wear loose-fitting clothing and avoid tight clothing or shoes that may rub or cause friction on the skin.

  • To ensure your spray tan looks natural and not too dark, it's important to communicate the desired level of tan you want. I can then choose the appropriate solution and technique to achieve the desired look. Exfoliating and moisturising your skin prior to the appointment can also help ensure an even and natural-looking tan. It's also recommended to avoid excessive sweating, swimming, or bathing in the first 8 hours after the spray tan, and to wear loose-fitting clothing.

  • During your spray tan appointment, it is recommended to wear loose, dark-colored clothing. Avoid tight-fitting clothes and anything that could rub against the skin and potentially cause the tan to streak. Many people choose to wear a bikini or underwear, but keep in mind that any areas not covered by clothing will receive the spray tan. It is also a good idea to wear flip-flops or sandals to avoid getting tan lines on the feet. I will also provide disposable underwear and a cap to protect your hair to wear during your appointment.

  • Absolutely! I recommend going topless to help minimise any lines and in turn create a flawless looking spray tan. The majority of people go topless but the choice is entirely up to you to ensure you feel comfortable in your appointment.

  • Of course!

Sometimes it is necessary if you have sheer panelling for example on your wedding dress that will show your tan lines through your wedding dress.

The decision to go naked for a spray tan appointment is a personal one and it ultimately depends on your comfort level. If you do choose to go naked, I will provide you with privacy to change and ensure you feel comfortable throughout the appointment. It's important to communicate with your tanning professional about any concerns or questions you may have before the appointment.

  • If you feel scared to have a spray tan, it's completely understandable. It's natural to feel apprehensive about trying something new. To help ease your fears, here are a few things you can do:

    1. Talk to me! Let me know that you are feeling nervous about the process. I can help to explain the process and address any concerns you may have.

    2. Do some research on the spray tan process to help you understand what to expect. You can also read reviews from other customers to get an idea of their experiences.

    3. It is my job to make you look incredible and transform you into a glowing godess! In all honesty I am not looking at your body I am purely looking at the tan application to ensure its evenly distributed all over.

    4. Prepare beforehand: Make sure you follow the pre-tan preparation guidelines to ensure the best possible outcome. Knowing that you have prepared for the appointment can help alleviate some anxiety.

    5. Bring a friend: Having a friend accompany you to the appointment can help calm your nerves and make the experience more enjoyable.

    6. Choose a lighter shade: If you're worried about the tan looking too dark or unnatural, opt for a lighter shade.

    7. Communicate your preferences: Let the technician know your preferences regarding the level of darkness and where you want the tan applied. This will ensure you get a customized result that meets your expectations.

Overall, don't be afraid to ask questions and communicate with me. I am here to make the experience as comfortable as possible and help you achieve the desired result.
